The other species are Asian and are characterized by the coarse guard hairs; they have no spines and may be very malodorous. They are about 18 in. (46 cm) long and have a 12-in. (30-cm) tail. All of the species may be kept as pets. Hedgehog pic and photos can be obtained from a special farm.
