These animals have good vision. They are rather active and a young animal may try to jump out of your hands. Hold them rather carefully and attentive otherwise the fall can lead to broken bones and internal injures. You should never leave your animal unsupervised on a tabletop because it will surely wander too close to the edge and fall. Normally, the life span of these animals is five to seven years; however they can live longer if cared for properly.

These animals are very tender, they like attention and love. They are very intelligent and may respond to your voice by squeaking or getting excited when you talk to them. They are really very talkative. These lovely little animals make great lap pets and will happily sit and munch a bit of green stuff while you give them a brush. Cavies make wonderful pets just because they are rather easy to keep, they don’t need much living space, besides, they are well known so you can get lots of information about them without any difficulties.
