The history of the animal’s domestication began in the 1920s with MR. M.F. Chapman, who in 1918 became interested in this little animal and developed a plan to obtain more of the animals and transport them to the USA. His thought was to breed animals as pets and for the fur market. Mr. Chapman captured as many these animals as was possible and established a population. Breeding chinchilla requires a lot of knowledge from the breeder; breeders should also offer photos.
