English Bulldog Rescue
Most english bulldog rescue clubs will not only provide a rescue home but also health care and training.
Originally the breed was used as a fighter and it was trained for years to be strong and unconquerable, thus the so-called natural selection let only the best to stay alive. Usually the games of bull bating continued to the death of one dog. The strongest survived. The dog is a good jumper and runner, thought it may seem that it is too big to move easily. These dogs are also known to be coach potatoes, they can be very lazy and should be trained regularly both physically and mentally. To raise a reliable and well-behaved companion, training should begin at the earliest age possible, right from the moment the puppy can walk. These dogs don’t respond to tough and unsystematic training, but enjoy activities that stimulate their thinking. Those include fetching, hide-and-seek games and others.
