When buying a puppy, do pay attention to the breeder and choose the right one. He or she must have all documents on hand, which entitle him/her to take part in breeding programs. True breeders do not keep their pups in large quantities in backyard cages. Do not buy puppies from pet stores, where they probably arrive from dollar-oriented ‘puppy mills.’ There you are very likely to come across a faulty or ill animal, which can be prone to various diseases. Many of such puppies get abandoned and lost.

Although these dogs are easy to care for and do not tend to be aggressive, they are not recommended for inexperienced owners.
